The ARC

The ARC, also known as the Alyangula Recreation Club, functions as a primary venue for socialisation and relaxation on Groote Eylandt. Located in the township of Alyangula, this establishment caters to a mix of local residents and workers from nearby mining operations. It offers a selection of beverages and a bistro menu focusing on classic pub fare. The venue features an open-plan layout with dedicated areas for watching sports and hosting community events, making it a central point for evening entertainment in the region. Situated near the Alyangula Golf Club, the facility provides indoor and outdoor seating options to suit the tropical climate. Patrons can access recreational amenities including pool tables and darts. The establishment maintains a casual atmosphere, serving as a convenient meeting place for those living or working in the remote Northern Territory. By offering regular service and community events, it supports the social fabric of the island township.
