5 Sawyers Darby Street

5 Sawyers operates as a social hub on Darby Street, serving residents and visitors in the Bar Beach and Cooks Hill areas. The establishment takes its name from the historical sawyers who worked in the region, incorporating local heritage into its interior design. It offers a variety of beverage options including local wines and house-made cocktails alongside a menu featuring classic pub meals. The venue maintains a focus on Australian produce and regional suppliers. Situated a short distance from the Newcastle Art Gallery, the pub functions as a convenient meeting point for those exploring the city's cultural precinct. The atmosphere transitions from a relaxed daytime setting to a more energetic environment during weekend evenings. Patrons can access both indoor seating and street-side tables to observe the activity on one of Newcastle's primary dining strips. The venue provides a consistent option for socialising near the coast and inner-city suburbs.
