About Artists Cascades
Artists Cascades is a natural water feature situated within the Conondale National Park near Coolabine. The site is part of the Conondale Range Great Walk and requires a moderate to difficult hike to reach from the Booloumba Creek day-use areas. Visitors encounter a series of small waterfalls and deep rock pools surrounded by dense rainforest and tall eucalyptus trees. The tracks leading to the cascades involve creek crossings and steep sections, making appropriate footwear and fitness levels necessary for safe access.
Located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the area provides a secluded environment for observing local birdlife and native flora. The nearby Strangler Cairn sculpture by Andy Goldsworthy is a significant landmark accessible via the same trail network. This destination serves as a focal point for outdoor enthusiasts exploring the diverse terrain of the Mary Valley region. Facilities at the cascades are minimal, requiring travellers to carry all essential supplies and water while adhering to park safety regulations and seasonal weather warnings.
