About Back Alley Gallery
Back Alley Gallery functions as a permanent outdoor exhibition situated in the heart of Lismore. The project transformed the city’s service lanes into a curated space for street art, featuring more than 60 works including large-scale murals, stencil art, and graffiti. These pieces represent a collaboration between regional creatives and visiting artists, providing a visual narrative of the local culture and environment. Visitors can explore the site at their own pace, viewing different artistic techniques and subjects that vary from abstract designs to realistic portraits.
Located near the Lismore Regional Gallery, this attraction offers an accessible way to engage with the creative identity of the Northern Rivers region. The gallery is centred around Eggins Lane and extends into surrounding passages, making it easy to incorporate into a walking tour of the town centre. Its proximity to the Wilsons River provides a convenient route for those exploring the natural and urban landscapes of Lismore. The site remains open to the public at all times, allowing for flexible viewing opportunities throughout the day.
