Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts

The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts serves as a primary destination for original performance and visual arts in Fortitude Valley. Located on the corner of Berwick and Brunswick Streets, the facility houses several performance spaces, including a main theatre and intimate gallery areas. It supports a wide range of disciplines such as circus, cabaret, dance, and music, providing a platform for both emerging and established Australian artists to showcase new works throughout the year. Visitors to the centre can access a variety of public programs and creative workshops hosted by resident arts companies. The venue is situated a short walk from the Howard Smith Wharves, making it a convenient stop for those exploring the inner-city cultural landscape. As a key fixture in Brisbane’s creative sector, the centre facilitates collaboration between industry professionals and offers the public regular access to contemporary cultural experiences in a functional, industrial-style setting.
