About Oakey Aquatic Centre
Oakey Aquatic Centre serves as a primary recreational hub for residents in the Aubigny area and surrounding Darling Downs districts. The facility features a heated 50-metre Olympic-sized pool suitable for competitive training, lap swimming, and general fitness. Dedicated lanes accommodate different speeds, while the onsite grandstand provides seating for local swimming carnivals and community sporting events held throughout the warmer months.
Located a short distance from the Australian Army Flying Museum, the centre offers essential amenities including change rooms, hot showers, and a kiosk. The grounds include a shaded toddler pool designed for young children to build water confidence in a protected environment. Qualified instructors conduct regular learn-to-swim programs and aqua aerobics sessions, making the venue a functional space for physical education and community health initiatives in the region.
