About Ocean Beach Camping Area (Site D)
Ocean Beach Camping Area (Site D) is situated in the Diamond Head section of Bribie Island National Park. Access to this site requires a high-clearance four-wheel drive vehicle and a valid vehicle access permit. The campground offers designated sites along the dunes, providing direct access to the eastern beach for fishing, surfing, and swimming. Facilities are limited to composting toilets and cold showers, requiring campers to bring their own drinking water, rubbish bags, and firewood for use in provided fire rings.
The location is ideal for those exploring the natural landscapes of the Sunshine Coast region. Visitors often travel from the nearby Caloundra CBD to access the beach entry points. The camping area serves as a base for observing local wildlife and navigating the extensive network of sand tracks throughout the island. Due to the exposed coastal position, campers should prepare for changing weather conditions and ensure all equipment is secured against wind.
