About Ocean Beach Camping Area (Site J)
Ocean Beach Camping Area Site J is located within the northern section of Bribie Island National Park in Diamond Head. This site provides a remote coastal experience where visitors must be self-sufficient, as facilities are minimal. Access to the campground requires a high-clearance four-wheel drive vehicle and a valid vehicle access permit. The site is positioned behind the foredunes, offering protection from the wind while remaining close to the Pacific Ocean shoreline.
The surrounding area features diverse coastal vegetation and opportunities for shore-based fishing and beach walking. Visitors often use this location as a base to explore the historical Fort Bribie ruins located further north along the coast. Due to the environment, campers need to bring their own water, rubbish bags, and portable toilets. This location serves as a practical choice for those looking to experience the natural landscape of the Sunshine Coast region.
