About Rocky Hole
Rocky Hole is a natural attraction situated in Mount Archer within the northern section of D'Aguilar National Park. The site features a series of freshwater pools carved into the rocks, accompanied by a small waterfall that flows after periods of rainfall. Access to the water requires a short walk from the designated parking area through dry sclerophyll forest. Visitors often use the site for swimming and picnicking in a remote bushland setting.
The location is reachable via unsealed roads, making it suitable for vehicles with adequate ground clearance. Situated near Somerset Dam, this destination offers a cooler alternative to coastal beaches during the summer months. Facilities are limited to basic parking and signage, so visitors must carry their own supplies and remove all waste. The surrounding park provides various timbered ridges and gullies that support local wildlife and native plant species.
