About Snapper Rocks
Snapper Rocks is a prominent rocky outcrop and surf break situated at the northern end of Point Danger. Known globally for the Superbank, the area produces some of the longest and most consistent right-hand waves in the world. The location serves as the opening venue for the World Surf League Championship Tour, attracting professional athletes and large crowds to the southern Gold Coast shoreline. Visitors can observe the surf from the elevated headland which provides a clear vantage point across the Pacific Ocean.
Located a short distance from the suburb of Bilinga, this coastal attraction is easily accessible for travellers arriving via the Gold Coast Airport. The surrounding parklands feature walking tracks and public amenities suitable for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the surf conditions cater primarily to experienced board riders, the rock pools and sandy stretches offer recreational opportunities for all visitors. The site remains a significant focal point for local maritime history and regional tourism activities throughout the year.
