The Wheel of Brisbane

The Wheel of Brisbane stands as a prominent landmark in South Brisbane, situated along the riverfront at South Bank. It features a collection of fully enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas that ascend to a height of sixty metres. Each rotation provides a complete view of the surrounding cityscape, the Brisbane River, and distant mountain ranges. The attraction operates daily, offering both day and night sessions for visitors exploring the local cultural precinct. It serves as a central point for those navigating the parklands and visiting the nearby museum facilities. Located within walking distance of Streets Beach, the site is accessible via various public transport links and pedestrian bridges from the city centre. Beyond standard rotations, the venue facilitates private hire for functions and sky-high dining experiences involving platters and drinks. Its position near major galleries makes it a frequent stop for residents and visitors in the 4101 postcode area. The facility provides automated audio commentary during the ride to explain the history of visible landmarks across the metropolitan area.
